Anyway, wow, the metaphor was unintentional but i suddenly feel very the artistic and cool when you make the link. haha.

on a side note,lots of babies being thrown and the newspaper show the pictures front page everyday – super horrific blue-faced babies in garbage bins. everyday. we had to carefully pick the right sheet untuk buat alas buat kuih atas meja else we will get gruesome pics on the kitchen table.

i wonder where the welfare center is. i kind of like how ‘pink triangle’ in chow kit has developed. they are now under this institution yg bukak banyak cawangan like pink triangle all over kl to house people for a night for them to clean up, rest and eat before roughing the day again. its a good place for them to prepare before finding jobs and interviews and stuff. ada legal aid every week yg visit too.

NGOs are awesome.

Feelin’ this post (both about the fitting & the homeless) both are very frustrating. So true they’re being hauled up for tourism (just like many other things in this country, they’re being ‘solved’ by hiding bantal busuk under a clean sarung bantal). There’s lots of places where there’s free food – most if not all are NGOs – and the welfare is what you said. These kind of support is more of ‘relocating & keep them breathing’ schemes but not getting to the bottom of it. And you’re right, do we even care? Who wants to care for ‘a lost cause’?

In the end it’s not charity that most people need, but a chance to live in a socially accepting & understanding space. We seem to think the homeless is a different breed from us, thus we attempt to find a different breed remedy. We’ve found providing education for disadvantaged kids but nothing equivalent yet for the homeless adult. Two different things but similar root-cause. There’s no such thing as solving it, after all, its no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

So totally get your metaphors man… the money spent on welfares must’ve cost the gov a lot but just like your sister’s fitting, ‘lovely cutting but it does not FIT’. There’s no ‘like’ button on your post; so treat this as a Facebook-ish ‘like’, hehe.
